acoustic guitar - more clarity, presence?

Greetings-
I've got a mixdown going on right now which I'm very happy with. The only thing missing is some equal sonic space for acoustic guitar. Bass, drums and vocals are very present. There's no electric. I need the acoustic to slice through more, but not sound harsh!! What am I looking to do here?? Boost at 10K? Limiting? If compression, what kind is suitable to acoustic.
Say, on Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey What Can I Do"...that kind of presence and warmth. What processing?

I think a small boost at 5 kHz will add presence. Or a small boost at 6-8 khz will add clarity. A boost at 10 kHz will only make it bright.

Depending what key the tune's in, dump everything south of the lowest tone on the guitar first. THEN start experimenting with boosts.

Don't come to rely too much on EQ. The first step in getting the sound your after should always be microphone selection and placement...it makes all the difference in the world!

More importantly make sure your guitar actually has a clear sound that cuts through, many don't. You can't record a sound that you don't have.
