Acid 2.0

I saw this product for $59.99, how good is it as far as computer sequencing and computer recording, or shall i skip this and get
acid pro for $150. Is this program any competition to Cubase or Logic, and I am going to be recording R & B and Rap, because some people say different software are better for different styles of music. I also saw something about unlimited audio tracks which is a plus in the long run?? Is Acid Hip Hop a sequencer also. I have an EMU Proteus 2000 and Mo Phatt....

I prefer Acid 3.0 as compared to Acid 2.0 (of course ).

You could check the Acid website to see how much an upgrade from Acid 2.0 to Acid 3.0 would cost. If the upgrade is cheaper than $90.00, get Acid 2.0, then get the upgrade . If not, then get Acid Pro 3.0 from your regular vendor.

I am not even sure if, in Sonic Foundry's eyes, Acid 3.0 is considered an upgrade for Acid 2.0. Check out the site.

You can not truly make a comparison of Acid (sequencer) to a "multi-tracking" program like Cubase or Logic. If you want to "track", then you'll need to pick up Vegas Audio 2.0 by Sonic Foundry. You can see that also at the above posted site.
