hey guys. im kinda new to home recording. i started about 4 or 5 months ago but i just got me a seperate computer soley for recording. ive got a hand-me down copy of acid 2.0 from a friend that i figured i'd start with until i got the hang of recording. my problem( at least one of them at this time) is recording multiple tracks on acid. for instance. i lay down a basic rhythm track and ill edit it using some effects, then ill lay a lead or bass line on it.when i go to edit my second track i can hear the original one in the background of it making it very difficult to edit the track. if anyone has any suggestions or just plain knows how to zap the problem please clue me in.
to let you know a little about my set up, i have a small 6 channel mixer running into the line in of my soundcard. i usually use head phones when i record and plug my line straight in so at this point theres no micing.

Simply click on the circle with the line though it, like the no-smoking signs. This mutes the selected channel only. To un-mute, click again.

yea iv tried that but, then i cant hear what im playing along with.

If what you're recording is also capturing the first track recorded, then the problem is in your soundcard mixer.

[edit] don't record "what you hear" record "line in" (on most)

PS. What sound card do you have?

Yeah, if you're using a cheap built-in soundcard it may not be "full duplex" which allows for monitoring tracks while you record.

What are your preference settings for audio in Acid?
