Has anyone used this. Supposedly it plugs into the usb port and delivers pro quality sound. If anyone has use it what do you think. I would like to use it for voice over recording if it works really good.

I don't know of anyone who has used it personally. The samson mics have a reputation as being at the bottom of the barrel for recording. From what I hear, they are harsh and thin sounding (referring to the C01, not the USB version). I would certainly not expect a "pro quality sound" out of one. I am also very suspicious of the USB only connection. You will only be able to use this mic to record to a USB enabled computer, and you cannot attach it to an outboard preamp. That is a big limitation in my mind, as good preamps can really make a mediocre mic sound nice. Based on the fact that you are even considering this mic, I assume your budget is tight. If I were you, I would hold out until I had at least $200 to spend. For that much, you could get an MXL v67g or Studio Projects B1 mic, plus a Studio Projects VTB-1 preamp.

I would be VERY weary! It's basically a microphone/phantom power unit/pre-amp/AD converter in one unit. But if you just need something quick and cheap (and easy to setup) to record voiceovers, it would be "ok", just don't expect it to sound any good!

I have this mic. At school I've used some decent quality mics like the TLM 103 and the stuf in that range, so I have a little bit of reference to judge it by. To me it sounds about like any of the low priced "MXL" stuff going into a low end M-Audio USB interface. This mic doesn't come anywhere near a real quality mic, but for the price, it is certainly worth it to me. I used mine for just recording band practices and stuff to get ideas down or whatever. You can only use one mic at a time though. It also just occurred to me that if you don't have high quality monitors you probably won't notice too much of a difference, but other people might.
