Not a bad first effort.

As far as arrangement and writing are concerned, it's not a bad first effort. However, it is not commercial quality.

The main fault with it is that the sounds you used seem to be general MIDI sounds. They are not natural whatsoever. What are you using to make music? If you are using a sequencer like sonar or cubase, you need to get some quality instrument plug-ins and a sampler plug-in.

There are even lots of decent free plug-ins you can get. Get a copy of Computer Music Magazine. On the cover CD you will find the SR-202 (drum sample player), CM-101 (synth), DS-404 (soft sampler). Plus loads of others and very useable samples. Also go here for some very good free drum samples. On the cover CD you may even find demos of Reason and Fruityloops. Two decent software studios for those starting out in computer music production.

Keep it up and make a concious effort on improving the sound.

EDIT: I just noticed this is the 3rd time you've asked for feedback of the same song in a differect thread. Just a word of advice, use only one thread and bump it to the top by replying to it. Otherwise, you may piss people off by duplicating posts.

I agree with this^ dude......

The variations and chords are good and all but the presentation is really generic sounding(because of the mediocre midi sounds you used)


Have you heard of soundfonts?

If you like you could send me a midi of the beat and I could remix it using soundfonts just to show you the difference!!
 
Yeah, I know - the instruments suck, they're just what came with the package.

OK. Atillah, how 'bout I send you it - you sort it out by improving the instruments with soundfonts. Then you explain how you did it. That way I will learn something out of it. If you're willing to do this then thanks.

Just exchange every instrument in the midi file with a more pristine sounding one....That simple...

What package did those sounds come with?
 
What I'm going to do is search like hell for better sounds and improve the beat as much as I can (first time producing, remember) and, as people seem interested, I'll send you a midi copy so everyone can hear how it SHOULD sound, that is if you don't mind doing it.

BTW, can u tell us the link for your music - I wanna hear some of ur new stuff!
 
None of my new shit is on the net right now........


All I've had time to do is post because, as every college student in country knows, it's cram-time(or crunch-time.......)......in other words it's time for mid-term exams and shit........
