a3440 noisy output on ch4

Just obtained a really beautiful A3440 in as new condition, not a scratch anywhere, looks great sounds wonderful using 2 channels, but there is an annoying amount of noise on channel 4 output in play mode with the output pot towards max, not on the tape (not present in sync mode) but in the output stage (with the DBX link disconnected there's no noise at all), any suggestions welcome, does anyone know a service company in the Midlands UK?

Need more details. Is it still noisy when the pot isn't full up? When you say "dbx link disconnected," have you disconnected a dbx unit from that channel or just interrupted the normal at the link?
 
i've got the same problem with the same unit. my 4th channel sounds like reverb and crickets.
