A smooth Pitch Shifter

Hey Im trying to make a synth lead pitch shift up an octive but slowly and smoothly, I tried doing it in logic 9 but the pitch shifter is too abrupt meaning u can hear the shifts chromatically like in the beginning of this song Os ton ourano-Panos Kiamos - YouTube please some one help..

Does your midi keyboard have a pitch shifter ?

Even if you only have a softsynth, it should be set up so that it can be controlled with a MIDI keyboard. In that case, it should probably also be controllable within your DAW. If it is, then you will want to see if you can figure out how to automate or control the pitch wheel on your synthesizer.

As an example, I use an older home version of SONAR. If I right-click on a track, I can add envelopes. If it's a softsynth track, one of the envelopes is the pitch or mod wheel, which in most synths you can assign to pitch (if it's not defaulted there already). Then you can draw an envelope change in your DAW to control the pitch.
