a slow, spacey ballad: "Lost Dream"

This one was based on an instrumental i did way back when, on a cassette-based multitrack machine.
it was originally called "Pali Face".

i always wanted to do a song version of this, and once i got the lyric idea, the arrangement came together nicely.

as it is, i've done an instrumental version of "lost dream"...
called "pali face", which is a full on fuzz pedal experiment!

It's a neat combination of electronic, new age, world flavored music. Borderline Floyd, circa The Wall period.

When the lead guitar comes in - pull the droning down - you could dampen them via a gain reduction sidechain when the guitar lead fires.

Vocals could come up a smidge.

There's a lot of low mid fog, though that is obfuscating clarity. It's all REALLY close, but some clearing would still be beneficial.

yes, i do all the singing.
the low notes, are a low organ note that comes and goes, it backs up the low bass in the beginning and end.

thanks for listening.
i can hear what you're saying there, wall would have been a big influence back in the day...

so, during the solo, there is no other instruments playing except the bass.
so i guess you are hearing the very full low end of the bass track.
i've remixed the track, to take out a bit of the low end build up, to see if that clears it up a bit.
also, i brought the lead track up a smidge, and added some high end clarity as well.

i've done a new mix, going to post up tonight, that brings the vox up a bit.

in keeping with the story line, i wanted the vox to set back a bit, drawing the listener in more to the music,
rather than having the vox loudly sitting on top of the music.
but i'll try a bit hotter, with a bit more treble for clarity, and back off the effects on the voices a bit as well.
