So basiclly you're saying that not only do the majority of the people want to tell the world about how much dope they move, and how many guns they bust, but the world also wants to hear how much dope someone can move, how many guns they can bust, and how many women they can get.....Interesting.

I wouldn't say that, but to me it seems as if the majority of people my age seem to think that's the only messege that will get them recognized. I also think the majority of people my age want to hear those types of topics b/c they aren't really open to other types of music. Most are stuck on trends and whatever TV/Radio feeds them as what's happening, they cling to and feel its the thing to support. Me personally, I love to listen to EVERYTHING, reason for that is b/c I'm open to all types of music and genres. I think society as a "whole" doesn't want to hear this, but society as a whole isn't controlling what's getting play @ this point in time.

i dont think you need to approach your music as having a message....an image or anything that you need to do to project through your music.

i think that its best if you approach it as representing how you see the world...whether its positive or negative..you just gotta take your thoughts and your personality and put it out there in your words, and how you spit them.

Even if you know, thats not necessarily how you are living..but its how you see things...

if youre out there in the streets selling drugs, you do it because you have to do it, but you dont want to have to do that..its hard, you still just barely eating, you're scared tomorrow could be your last day...you want a better life...Talk about that..talk about how your life is, and how you want it to be..talk about your dreams

just whatever you do, dont lie to yourself, or others by creating another you for the purpose of fitting in..

Everyone out there rapping about what they have, how much money they spend, how many girls they get...

if you not living the high life, dont talk about flossing..if you sexing one lil fat chick from around the way, dont talk about how many bad bitches you fuckin...if you not pushing weight ....or the don...dont try to play yourself in your music, talking like you're big willie when you wearing a hanes undershirt with a stretched out neck...

just look at the world around you, where you are in that world.. and put your real thoughts on paper..then spit it with the same emotion you have when you think about it..

Yo X, I make an average of $120/hr. I work from home about 3-4 hr/s day while watching my 2 sons (2 1/2 and 6 weeks) grow up. One of my many sites has a client that signed me for 6 figures this year (Merril Lynch)
It took me 3 years to get to this point and it's getting better every year.

Does That Make You Feel Like Shit?

just curious... cause I don't rap, but if I did it's would be degrading others and what they make. Someday, you will be right back there and need someone to help you out.

Don't take offense to this Im just trying to prove a point. My nephew was listening to this type of crap for a year and was alway getting in trouble and degrading women. He has completely done a 360 and toned his music and dress attire. he now is getting better grades and more friends.
Point is, don't spread the hate, our children are growing up thinking it for the better and it's not.

It's 100 times easier to hate than it is to show kindness. Walk into a dunkin-donuts and tell the guy behind the counter to have a nice day, bettcha can't do it. I'm still trying to find a way LOL

I find that kinda rap inspiring kuz I wanna be where they are to be honest. It has nothin to do with bein grown or not. Im old enough to know right and wrong I feel aint nothin wrong with that kinda rap. And I dont have kids to raise (Im 22 I dont need any right now) so I refuse to be responsible for ur nephew doin what he does. Personally I think his parents should have whopped his ass for talkin like that to a woman if they have a real problem with it thats what my mom did when I wasn't old enough to tell the difference and theres a difference between a good woman and a bitch. I happen to like bitches

Ps if u got some dope cars with nice rims (no spinners please) post some pics.

I used to have my own DJ company which was very successful, however I felt i was getting too old to be doing it so I got into computers (1993) From there, I taught myself how to do everything from graphic design to audio production. I started my own company in 1999.

My main company is a high end multimedia production company. I deal with big corporate clients like Merrill lynch and Bristol Myers etc. You can go see my work here. RJ Interactive Mutimedia

I cater to smaller businesses around my area too but do mostly web design and marketing for them. I also do broadcast 3D animation and video production as well. But that's just touching the tip. I have over a dozen websites that generate income on a daily basis. My goal is to retire at 40. (I am 32 now) I was thinking of producing a video on how I produce beats with reason. Anyone interested in that, let me know.

Hope this helps.

That's funny. You are 22 with no kids. Wait till you do have one of your own. your attitude will change instantly. As for "his parents whooping his ass" in today's world, you can't be a parent 24/7 He is 15 yrs old and out and about just like you were. Also, I agree he should get a big ol whoopin, but you have to be carefull with everybody saying you beatin yo kids and all that shit. The police will be at the door in a day. you know? It's hard to do now. My mom used to throw shit at me. Cups (the hard ones) empty detergent bottles, soda cans, you name it. you can still see the pepsi logo on the side of my head. No shit!!

I was afraid to call CPS. My momma loves me aint no tellin what someone else will to do me who might not like me Id rather take my bible beatings(my grandma whooped me with the bible new testament hardback) and I know my momma wouldnt fight it I have yet to meet a black person who wouldnt let CPS have their kids lol.

Isn't that a message in itself?

I'm all for bringing rap back to something better. That's what my record company is all about. We're just getting started out. We got 2 rappers 1 producer and me(engineer/co-producer). So far we have about 25 tracks. give a listen... Tell me what you think.

when i think of whats your message,
i think of it in terms of what do you want people to think youre about...or what are you trying to say to the people..

i think alot of time, when people try to portray themselves a certain way through their music, they really arent putting who they really are out there...and it comes off fraudulent and unappealing when someone is obviously faking the funk..

i think what artists need to do, is instead of writing for people, is to write for themselves...and be themselves..

sharpen their skills at the technicalities of expressing themselves in their writing and delivery....but the substance of what you spit in your music shouldnt be something you have to manipulate or or overthink...

if you are a person that really has a message they have to deliver, than deliver your message...but dont try to feel compelled to have to say certain things, or not say certain things...

its easy to end up caught up in a formula, and making an album full of music that doesnt reflect at all who you really are, but just what you think people want to hear.

I wouldn't change a thing from how I'm spitting now. Maybe the flow, but not the content. I spit possitive messages, but I keep it real. I been in the Drugs and Guns life, and I found a way out. I spit about that, and how others can get out of that lifestyle too.

Most of you know, I've already turned down 2 record contracts because I wouldn't compromise my integrity as an artist. I'd definitely do it again.

id personally just rap about society's current state of nature. id talk about the racial and sexual tensions in american life. id spit intermolecular theories of intellectual design. ;o id show people their true histories in american life, from black to brown to white to yellow. ill show people the true nature of life in a society driven by fear and individualism. id say what i believe in and try to teach people the ways to think for yourself. ill teach people that they dont have to agree with me to understand what im saying. if i say "we're all nazis and niggas", you dont have to agree with me, but at least ive showed u another way to think, even if to u its not right. and in u not agreeing with me, that means you've heard what i said and thought about it.

id rap about something to stimulate your mind. education is the key to a better tomorrow.

educate your thinking. elevate your mind steps and evaluate the true nature of the beast. eradicate the love and hate and remove these blinds before your eyes. find out your meaning in life, not theirs. remember that we can think for ourselves and question authority. we dont need the predators help to consume ourselves. never eat off the plate that feeds, or at least realize that he is waiting. consumption is its nature. will u be the prey?

thats not a rap btw, but see what i mean? -_- u just need an audience.

ps: im new to rapping, so my writing/rhyming skills arent quite there yet, but im tryin -_-.
