A newbie Question

Hey people. I got a friend who is recording guitars through magic. Theres a couple of problems. Alot of distortion is coming through and there is beeping in the background what could that be., Can you give me answers, thanks.

Recording through magic? Sounds like fun.

What is Magic? If it's a shareware/demo recording program or if you're using a shareware/demo plugin/FX then it could be adding beeps in the background.

Or it could be an issue with the computer/sound card/etc.

Yeah I thought it might be the computer or settings for the distortion cause I had that problem before, I didint know what the beeping was. I never experienced that. Yeah magic is a recording program. He got it off of download.com I bet thats what is causeing the beeping. It might be a trial version or something.
