A little help with some part substitutions

Hey,

I decided I'm going to try a condenser project next, but I need a 10uF mylar or metalized polypropylene capacitor, which I can't find on either mouser or Digi-Key. Can anyone suggest a suitable substitution (it specifically says no electrolytic). If you need to see the diagram to figure out what I need, it's here.

Thanks,

Peter

OK so here's a strange question...I recently found an old box in my garage with an assortment of capacitors, resistors, etc..is there any way I can figure out exactly what they all are? They have minimal if any markings on them. Thanks

Take a (sharp) picture of a few of them and post it here - try to include any readable markings in the pcture.

Thanks for all your help again...I really do appreciate it. I'm just a lowly college student trying to learn as much as I can before I really need to know it. And please excuse my utter lack of knowledge in the area of electronics...I'm just cutting my teeth. Anyway the pictures and descriptions are as follows:

In the first pic, the small redish round one says "x 5E, 120M, 1KV"
the large tan/orange one says ".01, 1KV"
the very large cilinder says "SPRAGUE, 30D, +, TE-1206,20-25 DC, 6447-L"
the small yellow cilinder says "CDE +/_ 10%, WMF 1D1, .001 MFD, 100VDC"
the large aqua one says "22, 50V"
and the small silver cylinder says "+NC1, 1K, +20V, 7414"
the other have stripes but no other markings...is there a table or chart where I can look these up?

The second pic has the following:
the very small red one says "+ 6.1, + 35V"
the dark green one says ".05, +80, -20%"
the silver cylinder says "M39003/, 01 M, 2031- J, 213A +, 37942, 15VDC"
the small blue one that has stripes says "ITT" on the bottom
the gold one says "CL705L 331" along the lip and looks strange from the top

The third pic is a view of the gold one from the top (it's in an old pin cushion)

Thank you again for taking the time to do this, I know it must be tedious. I'm hoping I can do something interesting with these parts.

In the first pic, the small redish round one says "x 5E, 120M, 1KV"
Capacitor ? value - possibly 120 pF
the large tan/orange one says ".01, 1KV"
Cap, 0.01MF, rated at 1000volts
the very large cilinder says "SPRAGUE, 30D, +, TE-1206,20-25 DC, 6447-L"
probably a cap, ?30MF, 20-25V
the small yellow cilinder says "CDE +/_ 10%, WMF 1D1, .001 MFD, 100VDC"
cap with noted ratings
the large aqua one says "22, 50V"
cap, probably .022MF at 50 volts
and the small silver cylinder says "+NC1, 1K, +20V, 7414"
probably a cap ? value
the other have stripes but no other markings...is there a table or chart where I can look these up?

the very small red one says "+ 6.1, + 35V"
cap (tantalum) 6.1MF 35volts
the dark green one says ".05, +80, -20%"
.05MF cap
the silver cylinder says "M39003/, 01 M, 2031- J, 213A +, 37942, 15VDC"
probably a cap ? value
the small blue one that has stripes says "ITT" on the bottom
possibly an inductor - it seems to have too many stripes for a resistor
the gold one says "CL705L 331" along the lip and looks strange from the top
a photoresistor - like the ones that come in night lights that come on when it gets dark

Thanks again! But how can I tell what type of caps they are (ceramic, electrolytic, film...etc)?
