I am buying a novation ks5 soon, and eventually a Triton studio shortly after that. This will be the next step up in my home studio developement. Any suggestions on a mixer that will provide superior performance for my music making needs? I really am looking for the best, of course, efficiency is always a factor.

What do you want the mixer to server as? Basic line mxer for gigging/submixes? If so, then I would suggest a Rane SM82.

Otherwise, you need to ask the question in the context of your intended use and needs.

Are you looking for a submixer for your keyboards, or a mixer that you can actually do a mix on? The Rane is of the submixer category. A small mixer you could actually do a mix on would be something like the Mackie Onyx or VLZ series, or the compact Soundcraft series, to name a couple.

I wantedpretty much a submixer to plug multiple keyboards/instruments in. Or is this more efficiently done via the computer? I currently own a presonus firepod which suits me well. I just wanted to know if there was better? Im a little inexperienced when it comes to studio.
