A Great Digital Workstation

Does anyone have any opinions on a digital workstation thats actually worth the money and has a good reputation for good/great recording and ease of use

I think the results will be more dependant on your instruments, preamps, mics, and ability to record, rather than the medium on which you do it.

But to help people out here, what kind of pricerange are you looking at?
