A/D Purchase Advice Request...

i'm in the market for four higher quality A/D converters. i already have a Frontier Designs Tango 8x8. i plan on using the new A/D's for Vocals and the like.
budget is around $800.

i'm looking at the Swissonic AD96 but before i purchase i'd like some additional advice or recommendations on the Swissonic or any other convert i should consider.

digital interface needs to be ADAT Optical (TOSLNK).

thanks,

I'm not sure what your asking for. i've had the Tango converters for some time and now i need at least four more inputs. i'm looking to invest more per converter. so i thought i'd see if i could solicit some advice before buying. i'm not sold on the Swissonic, but i don't want to invest more than about $800 and all i want are Inputs (A/D), no outputs, and the Swissonic fits the bill.

you sure you couldn't just use one and not record it all at the same time... much cheaper. If it's all for vocals you could just do each persons part at a time with the best AD's you have and then it will probably turn out the same. I guess you would be doing this if it was that easy eh...

hi PRiZ,

i have 8 inputs now and have the need for at least 12. a band is requesting to track as much as possible all at once. since i need the extra inputs, i've decided to budget more dollars for higher quality A/D's.

thanks.
