Nice. ..............
Even better, I have about $200 combined in all three. I made the larger set using old Peerless tweeters and new Peerless woofers and a standard 2-way crossover, now installed in a sealed enclosure for which the new woofers were designed. The smaller 2-ways are Realistic Minimus 7s and the full-range are imitation Auratones using $4 Nippon America drivers. The cool part is that they all serve a purpose and pretty much give me the feedback I need for tracking and mixing.
I went with the switching on the amp output so that I could use a single amp, and the light switches were both super cheap and capable of handling the current from a power amp. I just tied the amp ground to the ground on each switch and then the amp plus lead is switched through to the speaker I want to use. Of course, that means multiple speakers can be driven in parallel, but with this amp, there is no prospect of damage to the amp from driving two or three small 8 ohm speakers in parallel for a second or two if I forget to switch one off before the other on.
Cheers,
Otto
