A-B listening on tracks with Sonar 4

Hi,

I am tired of clicking Mute on a vocal track1 then clicking unMute on vocal track2... The silence i get for a second makes it hard to compare track 1 with track 2... Just like the green button on the effects, makes an A-B comparison.

Is there a way to do A-B comparison to audio tracks? (I mean 1 click Mutes track 1 while simutalneously unmuting track 2)

Excellent question. I assume Mike is talking about creating a custom control surface. I'm trying this now as I type but the help text is miles over my head...
 
Well Thanks a lot!

In the mixer section, I right click om M then group the mutes and then set group properties in order to reverse the values (see JPeg)

Would you know how to have a group of effects to be loading simultaneously? ( I always put a compressor, eq and Reverb on my vocal tracks, I am always stuck loading them 1 by 1) Wavelab does it.

Oh yeah! That's a cool trick!

As for loading a group of effects, I just use a template. But then again, I seem to be pretty complacent about using what little (apparently) I know about Sonar.
 
Whoa whoa whao, back up there! Are you looking to A-B tracks or takes? If you're doing takes, Sonar's got a great built-in ability to record multiple takes onto one track. Then just select one and mute it ("Q" by default). Then select both, and when you hit "Q", it'll mute the one playing, and unmute the other one. This would work for two tracks as well.
 
Thanks steve H. I use "Q" function all the time, but never thought about this!

That's way cool. I use a reverse group value for my one-knob dual mono pan width control but I never thought of using it like that.
