Tight band. Cool track.

The mix sounds pretty good overall, but there does seem to be a lack of punch from individual instruments. I have experienced this in the past either from instrument layering or relatively aggressive dynamic processing that is generally using attack that is good for smoothing dynamics but bad for reducing transients. It's a bit of a catch 22.

Of course this mix isn't in front of me so I don't really know what you are doing for individual track processing, but if you are using compression on each track individually to control the dynamics and you can't let the attack out any longer than it currently is because you lose a bit of the dynamic control you want, following the compressors with a transient designer to either boost the attack or attenuate the sustain is a way to re-introduce the attack that is lost during compression.

Even better than the above is less/different processing in the first place, but that can make it more challenging to get the track loud.

The kick is under-represented as well. Needs a bit more low end power and perhaps a bit of wood around the 4k mark to help it cut.

The guitars moved in the right direction but the drums need to catch up. They seem to be all about the 4-12k with not much happening below that. The whole kit needs some beef. Once that happens the snare may need to come down.

Worked on this a bit the past few days and I think it's getting closer to a final mix now. I had it in a place where I was finally confident in sending it to the band for some notes and here's where we're at right now:

Is the snare still too loud? Guitars too quiet? Anything in else you're hearing? Thanks in advance as always!
