Great!

I'm not ashamed to admit, i'm a big fan of this genre! You nailed it. Great Lynch tribute with the melodic lead..."Just Got Lucky" I believe.

Curious as to what processor you use for effects and also what you recorded this on.

Thanks.

I didn't really care for this sort of stuff then, but I sure remember what some of it sounded like, and yeah, this is pretty damn authentic sounding...especially the opening lead riff which gets repeated later (1:20 or so). Great recording...nice job.

Glad you liked it!

I used a PODxt for the guitar tone, I used Bass Direct with the Ampeg SVX Plugin (Which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!).

For vocals, I used a BLUE Blueberry mic, and just put a good amount of reverb, delay, and a little compression.

I Mic'ed up the drums with 10 mics.... Beta 52 and Subkick on the bass drum. The snare had two SM57's (top and bottom). Toms had Audix F10's (from the Fusion Kit). For Overheads, I use 2 MXL 991's (about 1 foot from each other, directly over middle of the kit, facing strait down) And I have two Audio-Technica 4033's stereo'd in the room.

Also, for anyone interested, the kit was a Custom C&C. The sizes were:

Kick: 24(radius)x20
Snare: 14x8
Toms: 13x9, 16x14, and 18x16

just swingin by to throw some props your way man. Can't add anything but I can say...Nicely done, sir.

DUDE! This is a beautiful track! I'd really be interested in talking to you about your mixing techniques on this. This is exactly how I CAN'T get my tracks to sound no matter how hard I try! Has a very professional, warm sound to it. Love it!

Authentic 80's sound - a bit of Bon Jovi in the vocal style too. Great Job!

Thanks! I was actually really surprised at the overall sound of the mix, especially since it just started out as nothing but a riff....

Loved it. Whoever said you sounded like White Lion was right on. Your voice sounds a lot like Mike Tramp. I thought it was great. The only thing I might play around with would be to double track the rhythm guitar with some different tones to try to get a fatter sound out of the rhythm.

I could feel the spandex from here.
Melodically it seemed very Bon Jovi.
I bypassed this era pretty well except for television shows that is.
Very nice recording & performing. Now you've dealt with your past it's time to listen to something from the Court of the Crimson King and blast away from there. (I's try but I don't have the chops).
There'll be a revival so look for your op.
At least it's not TNWOBHMetal!
