Where can I go to get these cheap? I've seen them from $1.25-$1.50 each so far in quantities of 100-200, but I'm looking for the best price.

Thanks.

Do you have negatives, or do you need photos shot?

Bob

$1.25 each for 8X10 glossies isn't a bad price. The paper alone is about $.45. (I'm assuming you're talking black & white)
The cheapest way to get them printed would be to go to one of the photography schools in the Bay area (of which there are many), buy a box of paper and pay a student to print them for you for a few bucks. There are also several places in your area that rent darkrooms- you buy the paper, and use their chemicals, enlargers, etc. For small quantities you could scan them and print them on a decent inkjet printer on photo inkjet paper.
Hope this helps.

Yeah if I were you I'd just make friends with a artsy type student. They are always excited to be a part of a project and usually will do their very best to make it awesome and just for the cost of materials and maybe some extra cash as incentive.

Does it cost extra to get 8 x 10 color glossies with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one is?

:)

ABC is charging $80/500 B&W or $6.25 each! If you get 1000, they charge $108 or $9.26 each! What a deal! These are lithographs - nor standard photographs.

Find someone who has Photoshop and knows how to use it, do the circles and arrows in Photoshop and bring the printer the digital file (preferrably JPEG).

Let's see, I don't like spam either but let's check the math,
500 photographs at $6.25 per equals ...... $2975.00....
no that's not right either..... maybe it's that pesky decimal point..
so without it we get 500 photographs cost $312500.00 .... that
seems pretty high also.....now I got it.. divide that by 100 to get $s and the true and real price is ... naw that didn't work either.

What your math actually tells us is that for each dollar spent at $80.00 per 500 photos; you receive 6.25 photos. That equates to about sixteen cents per picture, and a relatively good deal.

Just wanted to clarify,

Tim

Thanks Tim I thought I'd gone to math hell.

Last time I got a bunch of prints I used Prints Charm'n, they're were in West LA.

Doh!!!!! It wasn't the decimal point, it was dyslexic division! Thanks for the clarification, philboyd. Even as mathimatically-challenged as I am, I don't believe it's possible to make an 8X10 glossy photographic print for $.16.
