70,s fender strat reissue

You can get one new for about $600 (U.S). These are cool guitars, especially the ones with a maple fretboard.
 
$600 US is about right, $2200 here in Australia. Because of the bad dollar exchange and a heap of import duty but its like that with almost everything now. The $2200 is actually quite cheap here for a Fender as the more expensive USA versions sell here for around 5 to 8k.
J, you say the maple (or blond colored) neck fretboard is good on this guitar. Why do you say that. I've generally prefered rosewood for the feel of it and the sound from rosewood seems a little more mellow. Is it just personal taste or is the maple made better?
 
Scott, the maple feels more slippery to me and I think it sounds a bit harder than a rosewood finger board. Personally, I prefer maple over the rosewood.

I like maple for strats; but that's just my preference.
