most of 50 cent songs sounded like he did them at home UNTIL he came out with his NEW ALBUM they didn't sound so Professional, BUT don't get me wrong they sounded great before i THOUGHT. I was just wondering If i had a BrandNEw DELL Computer, Great Sound Card, Along with a SHURE KSM 44 and a Good Mic Preamp, do u think i'd be able to do my vocals just as good as his or will they sound alittle worse? Just a question.

Depends on your technique. Just because you can play solos doesn't mean people will be headbanging.

you can get in the ballpark and even come close to the quality, depending on your engineering skillz......

i just hope you flow better than 50.......

Fitty's flow is average; Lyrically, he spits the same content matter & subject material most commonly used by others! His lower-mid range & vocal technique is unique but on occasion, he rushes thru certain verses that contain a lot of words making it appear that he's mumbling which might indicate that uptempo beatz is not suitable for Fitty's slow-flow style.
The music the Dre produced for him, simple yet effective, matched perfectly with Fitty's talents.

Fitty is a product of a superior "Hype Machine" that took full advantage of his notoriety and marketed it to achieve platinum
status in commercial sales!

My brutha', don't strive or set your goals to be like Fitty;
Strive to be BETTER than Fitty and everybody else! Be YOU!!

flow like Ako Mack and Emerg from Bionic Jive, and I will be impressed. :)

Profound and wise advice Mr.Q!

the ksm44 is a great mic.. i urge you to be sure you have a good pre for it and you'll see just how good it really is..
the can be 10inches away from it and still have great proxcimity with it..
50's vocals really don't sound that great.. i want you to listen to 50 on some nice monitors and just study his songs.. dre must be adding some distortion on his vox cuz VS eminem's vox 50 actually doesn't sound great.. if you really wanna hear great vox.. go through some things that r.kelly has produced..his new album,JS, new Isley's album, some of the MH album...

just stuff your mouth with cotton if you want to sound like 50

9 bulletts

Shoot yourself 9 times while you play a show... I garentee you'll have as much coverage on the news and stuff as fitty does, then your hype will get your alblums sold, be sure not to shoot any vital organs though. I'll shoot you if you want?

Hey! This could really work. Now we have something we can tell all the people who come up to the stage after a gig wanting to know how to break into "the business".

As awful as this sounds . . . I can't help but wish someone would take HottSauce out of our misery. :D

..

If you're tryin to achive a similar sound then use 50 cent's cd as a reference when you're mixing. Get the things you need.. You seem to have an idea.. a decent mic, pre, soundcard & some software etc.. & get busy.. Is it gonna sound as good as a major label release? No. Not unless you have a major label budget.. & even then, if you're recording it yourself, you dont have major label engineering talent. So I say just get the essentials you need & jump in.. The sooner you start, the sooner you'll learn.

I'm familiar with what you're talkin about with 50's whoo kid joints when he'd spit 16's.. I've actually done alot of recording of mixtape drops for djs like clue, green lantern, kay slay & a few others.. & you have to realize that the quality of most mixtape drops is low because cats will come to the studio with a 2trk beat cd that aint mixed right & you have to work with it.. I recorded fabolous, jewelz santana, taj mahal, unkassa(dipset).. alot of mixtape work for cats before they blew up..

& PS: A shameless plug:
If you're lookin for alot of the drums used on 50 cent, They're available at Bangin-Beats.com, Shady records is a big customer & my drum sound design is all over 50 cent's record.

Thanks

Hey thanks for th Advice Cusetown and everyone else, I'm not really tryin to sound like 50, my style is alittle faster then his. I'm just sayin his songs didn't sound professionally done and i thought his songs were still tight, As long as i get close to his quality i'm good to go. But thanks

With all due respect, I completely disagree with this statement.

You can hype an artist to some sales success, but complete, world dominating, success like 50 cent achieved can never come without the right calibre of wildcard.

For every 50 cent, there is another act that the label tried to push to no avail. They might get to the top ten, but they quickly and hurriedly drop below 200 once the public realizes that it does not like what its hearing.

50 cent's success was well deserved and the result of amazingly catchy songs. It was already over when we heard wankster. Wankster was a refreshing song amidst a rap world filled with mediocre wannabes' . In da club was the nail that sealed the coffin when it came with its amazing wildcard.
