Here's what I'd do: stick them in a bath of lacquer thinner until all of the wax and plastic dissolve. Cut off the wire and throw it out. Swallow the magnets one at a time, space them apart a half hour or so. Call up Carvin and order one of their 11-pole pickups (no one knows why). When the UPS man arrives with the Carvin, go to the emergency room.

If you had 1/100th the experience you claim to have, you would already know about those pickups and LP's. Hell, I'm primarily a drummer and I know about those pickups and LP's.

I have put these in an Epiphone recently, I have a Gibson. I also dont test drive my customers guitars at one of my own sessions. I am sure you know all about the technical aspects of these pickups and Les Pauls, being a drummer and all! Please stop responding.

OK, you want a serious answer? It doesn't matter. Yes, pickups have some different technical specs, and we could wax about how magnet material, output impedance, etc. affect tone, but it still doesn't matter. I have two guitars at the moment. One has a pickup I handwound to a mere 5K, the other has two Chinese specials that are probably 8K and 10K. I didn't bother to measure. I used to have a LP with whatever pups it had. Along with several other guits, but those weren't humbuckers, so . . .
No one ever cares, because every one of those pup/guitar combinations sounded exactly like me when I played it. There is more difference in tone from picking at the bridge vs. neck than switching pickups.
Ever notice how classical guitars don't use pickups (I hope), and they manage to get a full range of tones? Is that like magic, or something?
Stick whatever pickups you like in your guit and guit on with it already

Who are you again? I am here to get information from other people interested in "Home Recording". Frequently when one is recording at home we try to get different sounds out of our equipment. And by the way, I have many non rude friends here. Go to a "Everything Guitar" forum and harrass people.

Pickups do matter, to me and alot of other people. I have already been changing pickups for years and they absolutely do make a difference. I have just never had these in any of my guitars. Maybe you need your ears checked.

Of course I have. But never with my guitar, strings, amps, studio, microphone, mixing board, tape deck, powder, and anything else that is in the signal chain that leads to my ears! Another thing, most times you may not know what kind of pick ups are even in a specific guitar. They dont have a spec tag on most guitars, you have to call Gibson to find out. So there!

That is a very popular pickup combination for Les Pauls. Your guitar will sound great with them. Whether you will like the result is purely subjective.
The pickups that came in your guitar are also fine humbuckers. You didn't say why they weren't suiting you. You may find the difference to be less than you hoped. YMMV
As a rule, if you aren't getting the tone you're looking for you should look to your amplifier/signal chain first.
