I just started recording on my 488MKII yesterday and noticed when I punch in an overdub the result is a much quieter punch-in(It really was silent) compared to my 424MKIII. Punching-in on the 424 I would hear this bumping kind of noise which is very noticeable in headphones, but really not audible in the final mixdown though speakers. Just wondering why one would be so much more quiet. It sure is nice having 8 tracks to work with. Best Regards Trumpetdavid.
