i was wondering if anyone could help me. i have a 414mkII portastudio and a digitech RP200 guitar processor. what i want to know is, can i use the compressor on the digitech to compress my final mix? or is it only to compress during recording? if i can do this, what wires will i need and where do i patch it? if this is the wrong place for this thread can you tell me which forum is best. Peace, BEREN. ps is it only for use with guitar? cos i sing thru mine and it sounds quite cool.

Hello....
I have a BP200 and have tried using it through the effects send and return on my 414MKII, and have found that the signal is to hot for the ( rp200) and overlaoads it before you can get enough out of it.
You can try it , as long as you turn the effect send down as low as possible and the retururn up high, and tweek the output of the rp200.
I gave up and just went back to using my bp200 for guitar and bass processing through the guitar input, and effecting vocals through the loop with my old A.R.T. multiverb.
If you wan't to compress the total mixdown, you might have to breakdown and go with a line level compressor of some type.
Make any sense ? Boils down to the 200 is a guitar level input device and seems to overload real easy with a line level signal.
Good luck
bubinski.

Bubinski again.....
Use a 1/4 " cord for a send and a 1/4" TRS for a return.
