4 Mixer Mon Out's --> 4 Headphones. How to get there??

I am using a 8 track recorder. I am looking to feed it its 8 channels from a my mixer that has 6 monitor sends and I would like to be able to feed each musician their own mix over headphones, much like we do on stage... I would like suggestions on how to make this happen without breaking the bank... the mixer is a Carvin C1648 and has male XLR sends for the mon's... I imagine I have to go through some sort of amp... thanks for the ideas.

You need a headphone distribution amp. The HA4700 from Behringer will get it done for cheap. They're not audiophile and they may not last as long as a better brand but they do have some useful features. You can get the first two channels of monitor mixes into the amp with XLR cables, but the other two will need appropriate XLR-TS connection. Refer to Sound System Interconnection for the correct wiring. Connect these two mixes to the front Aux Inputs on your desired channel.

yeah .. as aI dug farther into the topic... there is only one solution... a multi channel headphone amp... I was hoping to find some mini amps or sum-such that would cost $15 each... no such product... the HA4700 is the trick and there are many used ones out there to be had...

If they each need connecting to their own aux, then the other Behringer personal headphones units might be the best bet - clip on the belt and just feed them line level.

The nice thing about the HA4700 is that the main mix is available to all the outputs, so if one stereo mix is all you need then you're set. If you need two mono mixes then you can set each channel to mono and select which mix goes to which output. If you need four mono mixes then you just feed signal to the aux inputs of two of the channels and use the main inputs for the other two channels. You can also have a shared stereo mix with "more me" inputs to any channel's aux in.

I was hoping someone would have said.. "yeah, ya buy these $12 widgets and they amp up the line signal from the MOn Out... but the cheapest single line stuff is about $30 a pop... so a product like the HA4700 is the ticket.. I am doing this for a home recording project of my band.. so I had to do something to separate the sounds from each other and isolate each sound, but also be able to feed each player a mix.. which I can do off my board.. and give each person a mix that is heavier on their own instrument... I suppose splitting a stereo feed x-ways would work, but it would not be... good enough... especially seeing as good used HA4700's go for the $75 range
