Hi, I was wondering if you could offer your opinions on what I've decided to purchase, according to my setup:

My setup:
1. 733mhz Pentium III, 128 PC133 RAM, 15gb 7200rpm Hard Drive.
2. Sound Forge 4.5, Vegas Pro.
3. Aardvark Direct Pro/ it has 4 inputs.
4. Event PS6 monitors

I need to buy a Vocal Mic and Drum Mics.
My choice for vocals is the Audio Technica at4033 SM.

Since I can only record 4 tracks at once(until I expand my studio) what drum mics should I buy? It's a standard 5 piece Pearl kit.
Heres what I was thinking:
1.)SM57 for Snare/Hi-Hat.
2.)SM57 for bass drum
3.)SM57 for floor tom/ride cymbal
4.)4033 for overhead.
Does that sound like a good idea?? Will most of the tracks be separated for easier mixing? I'm new at this and I'm trying my best. Please help me out! It would be very appreciated. Thank you.

You are defintly on the right track, you will be happy with that setup. Think about getting a mixer or external preamps, with the direct pro you don't need it for preamps obviously, but I'll bet the preamp's aren't so spectacular. But yes the mics are more important. Consider a something else besides a 57 for kick. For about $30 more, you could get a AT pro 25.

jhe, thank you. The pro 25 seems like a good investment. The atm25 is too much money for such a small difference. The frequency range is a little wider. I think I'm gonna go with the pro 25. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
