Go with a melody.The backing isn't agressive enuogh for rapping. It actually would lend it's self to a nicely sung melody.
I like it.
The only crit at this eary stage us the snare - something not quite right with it.

When I said a rhyme might be spat, I was only foolin'. There is a melody in place. I don't want to proceed without a good balance though.

What is wrong with the snare by the way?
 
Hi! I had a listen. It seems as if the ride is seperated from the mix. The snare needs a nice defining with this tune I believe. A crisp pop perhaps.


I really like this though. Kinda jazzy, laid back cool. I like the off-set beat and key on the guitar. Sounds really cool and unique. Leaves a lot for the lead guitarist and vocalist to have fun with!!!

My only critic on the synth would be that it seems a bit muddy to me. Maybe something a bit more in the highs, to give it some different tonal texture.

Did you do something with the rides, or is it because you added the keys, and it pulls it togather?

The tune is really cool, and I like it a lot. I don't hear it as being cheesy at all!! I am looking forward to hearing the finished product!! :)
 
the unexpected turns and twists are good, they keep the listener allert. i would like to hear some more dynamics in ths instruments/mix. now everything just seems to meander peacefully to the end when it wouldn't be a bad idea to add some volume/intensity in certain parts. i liked the playing,the song and it got me snapping my fingers.
 
Hi Beater!! I have listened several times. Before I forget again...I love the little fretboard squeak at the end. Nice touch.

The synth is more clarified now. The cymbals sound great! Your mix is coming togather nicely.

I really dig the downbeat of this. The song takes on a dirty kind of funk blues sound to me.

Watiing to hear what vox ya put to it!!!
