I have a TEAC 3340s that really needs to be calibrated electronically and is also in dire need of some fresh tape for me to do some of the calibrations with. Channel 1 is lacking a lot of high frequencies partially because of the heads getting dirty more often and the electronics for that channel being off.
Right now all that I have is alot of mixed up 7 inch reels from Scotch, Realistic, etc. most of them sticky and there is A LOT more hiss that I would like. I feel like getting it set up with one type of tape would help quite a bit. I am using DBX with it. Maybe that should be calibrated too?
Would RMGI SM911 work or should i get the +3 tape LPR35? Has anybody biased a 3340 for +6 tape?
On a side note.. I was wondering what the differences between the 3340, 3340S and A-3340S are? Just curious.
