3 tier stand that fits Alesis Micron?, and a Midi Question

I gotta get a 3 tier keyboard stand for an organ module, an 88 key piano and an Alesis Micron. However I don't know exactly which keyboard stands will fit the micron.
Myset will probably be the piano on bottom, Organ, and Micron on top, or Micron on the second tier. Anybody know which brands/model 3 tiers will fit it?
Also I noticed the Micron has a beautiful E piano sound that I was wondering if I could midi control that sound from my full size 88 key Korg Piano through the midi jacks. Would this go??
Any info. is very appreciated.
 
If the micron (and KORG piano) has MIDI in/out (and or thru) connections it should be possible. You need to figure out how to switch the micron to be the slave, where it takes the MIDI info from an outside controler. Don't know how to do it, as I have no experience with any of those keyboards... Good luck!

You don't need to put anything into any kind of 'slave mode' to control the Micron from the Korg piano.

First, Here are links to two good articles on midi basics - part one and part two.

A midi cable from the midi out of the Korg to the midi in of the Alesis and setting the midi channels so that they agree would be the only thing that you would need.

Since you're probably not going to be using the Micron's E Piano sound on every song you'll need a way to turn it on and off. The Micron has multi-timbral capabilities, so I would recommend making the changes needed on the Micron instead of the Korg piano. Set up a multi patch in which the E Piano is the only sound and set that patch to recieve on midi channel 16. Then set the Korg piano to transmit permanently on channel 16. When you want the Micron E Piano sound playable from the Korg piano keyboard, just bring up that patch on the Micron.

As far as stands go, On Stage and (especially) Quik-Lok are the brands I would look for. I have a two tier Quik-Lok with my laptop computer sitting on the top tier as I type this - the top braces are that adjustable. I think I spent about $100 on it, so plan on spending $150 or so. If you need a four-brace bottom to accomodate the weight of your Korg piano, plan on spending up to $300. And be sure you get a good one if you're going to be playing out a lot - there are few things worse than a saggy stand in a keyboard players little corner of the world...

Thank you guys so much, awesome. Thats really cool that you can set the midi channel independently and still switch to the other micron patches, awesome. Well if it fits you're laptop it definately would be able to hold the micron. Cool Cool
