I own a roland vs1680. It records in 24bit digital audio. I am planning to record my bands album soon. So far, I have been using the built in CDR thingo that changes it 16 bit and dithers, etc...
For the first time (cause its my first REAL album), I plan to actually send a premaster to professional mastering facility rather than using the onboard mastering tools of the VS. I would like a way to keep it in 24 bit undithered format.... DAT tapes are 16 so forget that. The CDR function rips the 24 bit format to crap...
What media can I use to make a 2track 24-bit premaster to send out?
I have a DIO 2448 which is a sound card with a digital in... I didnt hook it up yet, but Im hoping that I could use the digital outs of the VS1680 to write directly to my PC's harddisk. Can I find an app that writes 24-bit audio? I heard Alesis MasterLink can do this.. help! Any advice is appreciated.
