I recorded a singer/guitarist "live" & he wants "more bass" in his voice. All I know is to use e q & it doesn't sound that great to me + it boosts the guitar as well. I know to make 2 copies & e q one for voice & one for gtr but I can't seem to put bass in the voice that wasn't there to begin with.
secondly - there was quite a bit of dynamic range in his voice so some parts of the file are pretty quiet. I add 3 db gain ( one of the options in cakewalk), then normalize & then add compression in that order. I know there are strong opinions about normalization...
Any thoughts? Thanks - I always learn fr you guys.
