Hey Guys,

If you get a second, can you check the first 2 songs listed here....

http://www.effortlessrecords.com/downloads.htm

The band is called the BluIgloos, and I recorded and mixed the 2 songs. Please let me know what needs improvement.

All feedback positive and negative welcome.

Thanks!

I liked Not Yet Found.

The vocals in the other one were a bit pitchy. (Though I do like Shinobu, so maybe I just need to listen a few more times... :D )

Thanks for the comments, and thanks for posting the Shinobu video!

not yet found sounded good. maybe some questionable eq and level issues with the backing vocals kinda dispersed every where on the panning spectrum, but it's quirky and i guess artistic. The guitars on set ablaze don't sound right and i think maybe panning like on the first song would help, but eq wise the distorted guitar sounds too muffeled and lacks punch. i know its a slower song but i think it's too dead sounding.

Yeah, I had a little trouble there.

I recorded that one in 2007 and didn't mix it until this year. It was kind of messy.

Had a hard time tamming those drums too, and making them cut through without clipping.

Listened to Not Yet Found a few times. Sounds pretty cool. The band has a looseness about them that I think kind of works in their favor given the style. The only thing that bothered me mix-wise was the acoustic guitar coming in on the right during the "minus 50..." part...it sounded a bit shrill and uneven...may just be me though. A fun listen and a good mix :).

Ok. Upon a second listen, the second song ("Agusta is Burning" was it?) is pretty awesome.

being honest, i really didn't enjoy the songs and i wasn't feeling the eq/mix. the mixing could be better.
