should i pan the 2 tracks i have with the same guitar from different mics hard left and right or since it is basically the same signal is it better to keep both chanels panned the same way.

Does it sound good to pan them opposite?
If so, go with it. If it sounds better to pan them together... do that.

The 2 mics might have been recording the same guitar piece being played, but those two tracks are different. I'm assuming the mics were at different positions or you had different mics. In that case, they don't sound the same. They each have their own frequency response and EQ. If they do sounds too much alike, tweak the EQ slightly to get a different sound out of the other. It will help give a little depth.
I personally don't like "hard" panning. Depends on the tracks, but I usually settle somewhere around 3 & 9 o'clock for left/right. Good luck!!!

If you must use both mics (it often sounds better with one) I would pan them in the same place.

I always use two mics, mixing them on the board to the same track--thus they get the same pan position. Currently I gravitate towards a RE20 or MD421 on the close mic and a AKG 414BULS on the distant mic.

pan em both to one side than run a short delay(13 ms) and pan it to the other side.
