1st pair of monitors and my requirements...

Everyone,

I am going to be getting my first set of monitors and have some questions...

1. I am using my computer to record and mix. The 1/4" out jack from the Delta soundcard will be going into the left and right monitors so I will need active monitors right?

2. If I am reading about a set of monitors and the artice does NOT say if they are powered or active or passive, how am I to know??

3. Any opinions on the Event 20/20s and are they passive or active??

4. What is a 'decent' frequency response for monitors? This is considering I am doing ambient music if that matters.

the type of jack your soundcard has doesnt specify the kind of monitor you need....active monitors have a built in amp....passive monitors need a separate amp...you can do either.......

they usually specify when active....if you have a certain pair in mind, i could tell ya.....powered,active,or biamped may be the words they use to describe actives....

20/20's are very decent and come in both active and passive...the 20/20bas is the active....

60-70hz to 20khz is a good response
