a couple of questions/points....

- what exactly is 'a very big round vintage sound'?? can you define?

- normally, 'very heavy duty hardware' consists of, at the least, double-braced stands

- do you really, really think that anyone is stupid enough to pay $1000 for that kit?

no offense, but you'd be better off trying to fool some fool into overpaying for that kit on ebay...

also, there is a 'equipment for sale' board on this bbs for this stuff.

I would have to agree. If you're stuck on the price range eBay may be a better place for this. If not, I might make an offer, but it would be significantly lower :)

make an offer dude. if the highest offer made is 5 dollars, then 5 dollars it is.
and if the person i am selling it for wants me to ask for 5000, thats what i put on the form. i wouldn;t pay a grand for it, and thats why i put obo.
and the hardware is damn heavy duty. double braced nothing, it's heavy as hell, very thick steel construction. not trying to hype it up for something it's not, but the hardware is twice as heavy duty as most rediculously expensive hardware out there. heavier than my gibraltar stuff, thats for damn sure.
it's just what it is.
and by big vintage sound i mean like an older sound. take john bonham for example. i don;t care what any big brained drummer or technician out there says, you can;t make your drums sound like that without getting old ass ludwig vista-lites. sorry, thats a fact. if you want that sound, this is it. it's like an old big band or swing sound.
i've tuned my drums to sound like that before, using the right heads and stuff, and it don't sound anything like my 1968 gretch 4 peice. it just doesn;t.
and i bought my 4 peice for about 350 without hardware and in need of some work, cuz i liked the set.
i sold my first set (ludwig, 5 pcs. all orginal in good condition) for $500 to someone who was looking for an old nice ludwig. some people will pay for what they want. never know, some collector might see it and want it. and the best offer takes it.
you want it? make an offer, thats why i put it up there. i mean, one of you guys might really like that set. i've been taking advice and info and tips from this group for like 6 months now. the least i can do is let you all know when i have something like this first, before i go and find some sucker to over pay for it.
make your offer.
Mike...

No resonant heads? I'm not surprised you're trying to get rid of it.

ya know, the set sounds good. if i had the money i'd prolly make him an offer. if your looking for that particular sound, it is good for it. if you wanna sound like danny carey or mike portnoy or something that new and modernized than it's no good. but i know a few drummers out there who won;t buy a set with resonant heads, they want the older less pretty and polished sound. it;s all about personal prefference.

Hey, saw your other post. No worries man.
Unfortunately I live in CA and there's probably no way for us to hook up otherwise I probably would make an offer. Good luck :)
