Hello All

I'm looking into buying a 16 Track digital recorder. Can any of you good folk suggest a Brand & Model that will record 16 tracks simultaneously ? I've researched a few recorders, but the ones I've found will only record 4 tracks at a time.

Any and all info will be muchly appreciated.

Cheers

yeah like two Firestudios. (I'm assuming he needs the full 16 channels recorded simultaneously.

The Fostex VF16 and VF160's are 16 track with a dedicated fader for each track and can do 8 analog tracks simultaneous... 16 tracks using analog + digital.

Just pick up an ADA8000 to give you 8 mic pre's with phantom power and digital lightpipe ADAT output for the digital input and... voila! you've got 16 simultaneous tracks. You can also pick up a Fostex VC8 for around $75 that gives you ADAT out, but the analog in's are RCA.

Of course, there are other options for getting the extra 8 digital channels as well... A bit spendier tho...

VF16's are selling on Ebay for around $250 - $300 and an ADA8000 will run you about $150-$175 (used).

VF160's (with the internal CD burner) are going for around $400-$600 used.

Hope this helps!

:)
