too bad that curmudgeonly crippled guy aint in la area... lets see where was he... ah yes... st louis...

So, shoulderpain, what is going on on the left face of the meter bridge; just to the left of the meters for channels 1 and 9? It looks dented/pushed in or something?

No, it's part of the strip lining that was tacked into...

... the small piece of particle board they used to line the top of the meter bridge. It must have come undone and is hanging down in the picture like a slight curl of tape. I removed it. I just looked again. I don't see anything like a dent there.

Oh! :)

It was like an optical illusion...it didn't look pushed in per se when looking across the top of the panel, but then with the curve and the black line through the screening on the panel it looked like a big dent...that's funny...I mean, it wouldn't be funny...its funny that I couldn't tell what was going on... :o

This is a great thread. very interesting board.

As far as sob stories go for dibs on the board....:)

I am a 21 year old poor recording school student in Phoenix who is taking a class called " Studio Maintenance". My class would love to open it up and see whats inside and clean it up and keep everyone here at my favorite board posted in the prossess. My instructors are very familiar with the technical and internal aspects of gear. As far as somthing to trade... I got a strat and a telecaster. I have a Tascam 688 Midi studio" the mother of all 8 track portastudios" Its a all in one 8 track to cassete tape mixer and recorder. And I can spare a SM57 and a nice XLR. Anything sound appealing? Its not much but its all I got that I can spare. My classmates and I would learn alot and so would everyone here.:D

Alright sob story over, but that would be a really good/fun project. ( semester just started)

I hope the guys at Tascam E mail you back, Im interested to find out more about the power supply.

What kind of studio stuff are you looking for? I can ask around to see if any of my friends have somthing of interest.

Maybe a better idea would be to ship the board to Phoenix, and have the class figure out how to build a power supply- also pay for the parts to build it. Then have them ship it back.

Sorry guys, I dibbed it already... :o
