My berry mixer ate it. The power supply died and they do not sell them as replacements . So I can either spend $200 to hire an electronics wiz to repair it, or I can spend $1000 and punch it up a notch. If you had $1000 to spend on a mixer with the only requirement being that it needs to have 16 XLR inputs, What Would You Get? Bonus points for 16 direct outs.

Couldn't agree more. The A&H MixWiz is an outstanding board for <$1000.

It doesn't have subgroups, so this may or may not be an issue for you, but they are probably the best out there at the $1000 mark. Oh, and they are rack-mountable, too.

Third for the A&H 16:2. Has the direct outs you want, a really useful EQ, somewhat useful digital effects. As dag said, no subgroups but it does have 6 aux sends.

thanks for info guys. i want 16 direct outs to eventually feed 2 chained firepods. mmmmm tasty. if there are any other suggestions besides the 16 direct outs to feed the 2 hungry firepods i'd love to hear um. hands down the A&H over the soundcrafts in that range huh?

A fourth vote for the Mix Wiz here. Especially the mk3 ones:)

Dose the A+H mixer have any line levels?

All 16 channels have line and mic inputs--they can't be used simultaneously though, the line jack defeats the mic in (this is on v2, not sure if that changed on v3). There are also two stereo return channels.

A fifth on the A&H, i own one.

It's pres sound good, and the eq is smooth and musical.

And every channel has direct outs.

I never wanted a "mixing" board per say.

I just wanted a flavor board.

This thing is perfect for upstarts who mix "in the box" IMO.
