i’m looking to get a mixer that has 10 channels with usb.

i want to do some multi instrument live looping, and studio recording.

these things can multitrack? i’m upgrading my studio and live gear.

i’m looking for used…i found an allen and heath zed 10 for 150.

these things are usually 300 or more. i would like to stay in that range.

anyone recommend what they have?

How are eyou going to loop? Boss Looping pedals may be a good idea.
I think mine's an RC30, with stereo in and stereo out.
The Zed mixer will just combine all the inputs into stereo out.
I found a Alto Live 1604 to be good value. It does a similar job as the Zed, but with more channels.

I looked at the Zed range, which have 100mm faders, but the Alto was cheaper and had 4 stereo channels, and on-board effects.
With either of these mixers, you can only send a stereo signal to your daw over usb.

i found a boss rc 50! just came in today.

ah. that makes sense. i have an onyx blackjack.

i used to have a few 400fs until they all pooped out. had a presonus firestudio.

then i stopped recording for 10 years.

is there a modern off brand digi002 that’s usb?

it looks like those old firewire interfaces/mixers have come down in price. i don’t want to get protools stuff, but something like that.

i do miss watching my automation move during playback, but not enough to pay.

The budget Zed range will only give you stereo over USB. You need to go up to the Zed i10 which will give you 4 channels each way over USB.
thanks for letting me know!

they’re a bit ambiguous about saying that limitation.

i found an i10FX that should do well!
