ya, that’s definitely good enough reason. I agree.

by the way, I know your using the mixers Pre amp for you guitar, as far as getting the cleanest natural signal, do you keep all your EQ buttons on the mixer in the middle 1/2 way?

Yeah on the the detente(?) thing in the middle.

The faders on the channels I'm using & the masters are always on 0, and the others at -INF

What the heck is –INF?

I don’t have that on my Taskam 488 4 track. IF I were to turn my faders all the way to (0), I would get no signal even with the gain button up

Anyway, I my go with a bigger mixer just for versatility as far as using it for other things unrelated.
Just curious, If were went with that 24 track FX board, could I run a dry natural signal through that like you could the smaller boards? That thing is so cheep for what it has, I can get that 24 track for around $700 from what I’ve seen on the net.
Another thing I can’t tell from the web site: Do them 24 track boards have Outs on every channel or is it just like the 12 channel board like you originally recommended?
I see a bunch of quarter inch line jacks on the back over each channel but I can’t tell if they are in’s or outs?

I had a recording engender who sets my guitars up, he was telling me that Yamahas are not that great and sometimes noisy, However I don’t thick he has seen the MG series.

I’m just curious are these Yamaha MG series new mixers? Has anyone noticed any noise with these? Maby they have been improved.
Anyway he was telling me to go with Mackie as they supposedly have way better pre amps and circuitry for around the same price.
This mixer looks nice but it’s a little more money, but then again it's one of Mackies new mixers so it's not really fair to compair.

Anyway is Mackie a better mixer in general?

That Mackie looks good, although at $550 it's a lot pricier than the Yamaha for $200.

The thing I like about that is the optional firewire card that can get 12 tracks into your pc (if I read it correctly). Musiciansfriend didn't have a price on the card
