No it's not DIed, it's a mic pointed to a Hot Rod Deluxe. When you say you're not a fan of barbones rhythm guitar, as opposed to what? I'll work on the panning, I hadn't noticed it was that bad. I have a habit of listening to something for a while and losing my critical ear about it. Thanks...
I hear you man. I was going with the thought of setting the mood and making the listener feel a little off kilter, but you're right, too much time.
I also plan on dialing back the feedback. I'm still going to have it play throughout, but at lower volumes and compressed.
Thanks again for...
I love the stereo effect in the echo and modulation. The drums sound a little weak to my ears, but I've heard that before in this style and it might fit perfectly with what you're trying to do. I found myself listening to the bass mostly, lots of cool stuff going on there.
Wow, great replies. Thanks so much for giving it a listen. I'm starting to agree about the panned distortion sound. It was my first try using a Swollen Pickle Fuzz pedal, and I stacked it with a Tube Screamer. I guess I wanted to use that combo more than it made sense. I have some time...
Howdys all round. I haven't lurked or posted here in a while, but I've recently gotten some new gear: Fender Tele, Hot Rod Deluxe, Eventide H9... that sort of thing. I am working on a song that I haven't written or attempted vocals yet, but I thought I'd see if anyone would check it out if I...
yeeeah buddy, thank you for all the replies. It was recorded into Tascam DP-02 with just a pickup on the acoustic (which might explain the dryness of the tone), and a keyboard of course.
I liked the idea of some strings, maybe a cello? Vocals too of course if we could come up with something...
Hey thanks for posting man. You're a 1 out of 80 kind of guy.
I am thinking about pulling the first synth back a bit. I don't want to freak people out right out of the gate. The guitars you hear and just two acoustic guitars plugged directly into my M-Audio Fasttrack.
Thanks again
Hey man just a quick suggestion. I haven't heard the song because I have to download it, and I'm not down with that. Maybe post it on soundcloud or something that we can stream? I'm not trying to sound bossy, just thought it'd be nice.
Well I for one love the title and subject matter, but I'm not sure how it's going to play with most, ya know? I like the song, too. Kind of lazy and aggressive at the same time. You have some good soloing chops, friend. Keep it up dude, I'd jam it.
Hey guys,
My brother and I just got done working on this recording today. Any thoughts on the mix or arrangement?

Hey all,
Does anyone know how to get down on "tape" what the Traktor's Beatslicer effect is doing to the track? You can play with it live, but I can't seem to find a way to record it. I am using Reaper.
I tried the manual and there was nothing helpful in there, but it did mention something...
Elbow - The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver - YouTube
This is a UK band called Elbow. My question is: can anyone tell if there is any vocal treatment on the singer? Most live performances are gone over with a bit of auto-tuner if they plan on selling it, but I can't tell if there is any...
I'm listening to the 2nd revision....
That's some killer guitar tone and chops. I don't really listen to metal but I still like. It's got a lot more atmosphere than most metal tunes. Yeah, for sure...like ambient/metal. I think I liked the effects you used the most, you lit up the ears...
Good ear, sir. The drums are just a loop my brother and I found on an old Casio keyboard that we dug. We were kind of just being stubborn to put them in even though they sounded so thin and weird. It's hard to do some EQing on the Tascam, but I'll see what the built in effects have to offer...
