I want to build my own rack effects like eq's, compressors, preamps and etc.
Where do I start? What do I do? It feels wrong starting with a 1176 when I don't have a clue...

Hello!
I use the rode nt5 when I record my hihat. The signal is clipping and moving the mic away changes the sound in a bad way. And unlike the nt55, my nt5 doesent have a -10db pad.
So my question is: what do I use to lower/pad the signal pre recording?

In a few weeks I will record a guy who plays guitar. And he likes to use his reverb pedal quite alot (in my oppinion).
But the problem is: Since it´s a mono pedal and I only record with one mic, the reverb is in mono (obviously). And this sounds shit in my ears.

I have a problem. When my mixes are done, I export them to 24bit wav. And then they sound good. But when I upload them on soundcloud (which convert the audio to 128kbps mp3) the quality is shit, weird noises and distortion.
What I do to every mix (final master):
Lower the output threshold to .3...
