    Need help configuring Audiophile 2496

Unchecking "Listen to this device" did the trick. Latency is gone now. Thank you.

    Need help configuring Audiophile 2496

I've recently bought myself a new desktop with Windows 7 64bit. I installed my Audiophile 2496 and the latest driver (5.10.0.5074). Windows recognizes the card and there is sound. As a playing device I can only choose between S/PDIF and Line 1/2 so I selected Line 1/2. As a recording device I...

new PC to go with Cubase 4

Up untill now I have been recording guitar, bass and vocals, using an audiophile 24/96 and Cubase VST with good results. My PC is 5 years old now so I guess it's about time for an upgrade. I have some money saved up for it. I'm planning on buying Cubase 4 and I would like to continue using the...

Fake drums are sounding very real

I use Fruity Loops to make rock drums. It takes a lot of tweaking and time but in the end you can get a very good result. Check out this cover I made of Would by Alice in Chains. Drums are all Fruity Loops. http://users.skynet.be/fa260404/Koen/Would.mp3

drum beats for solo guitarist recording

You can create pretty realistic drumparts using Fruity Loops. It just takes some decent samples and a lot of tweaking and time and basic understanding of drums. Check this cover of Would by Alice in Chains. I made the drums entirely with Fruity Loops. http://users.skynet.be/fa260404/Koen/Would.mp3

    Would? - AIC, instrumental version

I covered that song a while ago. Unlike you I stayed very close to the original. http://users.skynet.be/fa260404/Koen/Would.mp3 I'd like to here your version with vocals.

Would? by Alice in chains cover - second take

I used a V-amp2 for all guitars, bass and vocals. Hope I'll still be taken seriously after admitting this.. Recording cover songs is really learnfull to me, in every possible way of recording. It offers insight in song construction, song layers, mixing, mastering etc. and it really learned me...

My "redone" Down in a hole" cover.

I'll send you you a wav. of the song without my vocals on it. I'd like you to do the Layne part only and I'd like to mix it in if that's ok. I'll also send you the drums for 'Would?' or would you rather have the instruments too? Check your email; I send you an invite to open a Gmail account. I...

My "redone" Down in a hole" cover.

Sounds awesome. harmonies are dead on. You've got a great voice. A little too much chorus on the guitars maybe. You missed some guitar fillings during the "down in a hole, feeling so small.." parts but now I'm nitpicking. Any chance of you recording some vocals for 'them bones'? The music is...

New mix of previously posted song

I like this. Only point of critique is that the bassline is a bit dull. I think the track could be a lot hotter with some a more clever line.. Nice solo btw!

"Surf Song" In Need Of A Listen...

Not bad bass could be a little more distinct, less muddy snare sounds kinda 'hollow"

Where do I check latency in SX?

I recently switched from Cubase VST to SX. Can someone tell me where I can see how much latency I'm experiencing? I'm using an audiophile 2496 soundcard. Thanks

    Underdog - unmixed, please help!

There seem to be some timing issues, the drummer isn't very tight either.. Drums sound muddy. Kick is burried. Crash and hi-hat are panned to hard left imo. Bring up the bass.

Realistic sounding sequenced rock drums - listen to this!

I use the Tom Hicks samples. I guess he recorded them himself. Here's two more covers with Fruity Loops drums: No Excuses (drums are mono..) http://users.skynet.be/fa260404/Koen/No_excusesMP3.mp3 What The Hell have I? (no vocals yet) http://users.skynet.be/fa260404/demo/what_the_hell.mp3

Realistic sounding sequenced rock drums - listen to this!

For everyone who's always saying it's impossible to make realistic sounding sequenced drums listen to this. It's a cover of Alice in Chains' 'would?'. I made the drums using Fruity Loops and managed to fool most people in the clinic. http://users.skynet.be/fa260404/Koen/Would.mp3

Would? by Alice in chains cover - second take

As I said I made the drums in Fruity Loops, not using midi. Then I exported them as wavs and imported them into Cubase, where they were mixed as audio. The wavs were still in sync with the metronome of Cubase. Also when copying and pasting different parts I never found a problem so I'm pretty...

Would? by Alice in chains cover - second take

Thanks, I know the vocals are a little wet, I did that deliberately to mask my poor singing.. :D, I'm pushing out of my range a little during the chorus.. As for the drums not being tight, they are programmed (Fruity Loops), so I don't see how that's possible. I did try to make them sound not...
