What is this problem?! A phantom power issue?

True, very true. That's also a great idea to check the voltage drop. It might drop as much as 10 volts with a load but maintain a constant voltage above 35 volts or so. Good call Punkin Like punkin said, slide the shell out of the way to expose the back side of the leads before you plug it in...

Using click tracks: pro's and con's?

I have two drummers I use for session work in my studio. Why only two? 1. They can adapt to any style. Big band, country, heavy metal, blues, jazz etc. 2. They both can lock to a metronome because they work at it. And they know the difference between on and off. I have two session...

    Isolation cabinet and speaker choice

Well........ I own the Randall Cab. and just love it. I bought it when they first came out so it's loaded with a stock Randall speaker and not the celestion. I've tried a few speakers in it and couldn't hear a noticeable difference in tone. The idea is to hold in all the sound and bombard the...

    Timing Issues

I’ll I have to go by are the three recordings of the group so I don’t know how this will apply in the real world. Since I don’t know if a click track was used etc. You should look into every band member using a metronome every time they pick up the instrument. The drummer is not the only...

    WTF is up with Marshall?

Side Note Why would you want to spend more money on something that's going to stop working before you get it paid for? Every time I have a customer ask if I repair amps my reply is "Oh.......you own a Marshall?" And the scary part of this story is that more half will reply with "How did you...

    new guitar vs. re-fretting

A pro repair tech can set it up to stay and play in tune. I have on an average 4-6 players per week that come to me for fret job. 99% of them just need a crown job. Some might need one to four frets replaced. But for the most part if you don't mind the frets a shade lower than they came out of...
