Actually sounds very intriguing... but what kind of guitar player are you looking for?
I've played for about 10 years, mostly play rock/metal; but have co-written some indie and ballads. Definitely not a classically schooled player, nor am I very good at acoustic guitar -- if that's what you're...
Hear, hear!
Go for: Simple nice HTML design. Moderate use of pictures. Fast loading. Lots of content.
Hint: What you can do in Flash that you can't do in HTML you won't need to make a great site. So if you can't make a great site in HTML you certainly won't find salvation in Flash, rather the...
Didn't you post that link just yesterday in another thread?
The navigation is obvious... the design is so minimal it's kind of ugly (no offence), might work for a minimalistic blog design, but not as a presentation page of you and your material (IMHO).
Frames are evil _and_ ugly (you don't...
Sounds like something I could use. :) Sounds and looks expensive though.
I haven't heard Ashlee... any relation to the other "reality soap star" Simpson? So were any of you guys ironic? Looking at the review of that unit I'd guess at least one of you were? ;)
I'm - like you - new to this too, but the information seems consistent with what I have read elsewhere. I'll probably use that site as a "crutch" until I start understanding EQ:ing myself and start developing my own preferences. Thanks for link!
Thanks.
I'm thinking of getting Drumkit From Hell 2 or DFH Supreme, which I understand operates as a VSTi plugin, so with that I guess mixing down won't be a problem.
I only sing and play guitars on my home recordings, so I use (soundfont) midi for bass and drums. Earlier when I mixed down I used to change my SB Live to record "What you hear" to get the midi down as wav's.
However, now I've upgraded to an E-MU 0404 sound card; and I noticed that recording...
I have, reluctantly, come to the conclusion that I don't have the time, the means or the skill to successfully make homerecorded music that comes even close to passing itself off as professional recorded music. No matter what I do it sounds pretty murky, too much discant, too little reverb, to...
Ok, talk about underrated then...
Malcolm and Angus Young...
those two, especially Malcolm... are underrated.
And WTF are those replies playing for seven years about? get a fucking life, brag somewhere else where people are impressed.
This is a guitarist forum, drive that by your g/f's for...
...then why not 1000, or 1250? Who cares?
$750 is a goo enough number. Besides, in my currency $750 = 7500. Good an even number for me. Saner than $800, don't ask me why... :) (is this how you got to 1100 posts? :)).
If the best mic in the world costs 1250 and everyone says so - I'll buy it. If...
steveaustin, I can spot Slah's bluesy and often clever solos most of the time. I don't expect people to recognize his talent, but to me he's one of the best blues-influenced rock guitarists around today.
guhlenn, what can possibly possess you to say that Randy is the musical daddy of Hammett? Hammett doesn't show any of the traits, talent or technique that Randy had. In my world they're miles apart.
FYI, I like the early Metallica albums very much, I just don't care much for Hammett's solos. I...
I have a shopping list for about $8000 (that's alot of money for me, probably a year, or more, saving most of my salary after living expenses).
I'll probably start with monitors, mic and mixer - in that order.
JV1010, which company makes those?
What's a condenser mic, compared to a tube or...
* I am not an accomplished mixer or masterer
To me you had a nice 60's sound going on the guitars (the intro reminded me of A Whiter Shade of Pale for some reason). And the whole instrumental production sounded a bit like a digitally restored recording (very nice, ambient and moody) - while the...
Actually, *blushes*, the drums only MP3 is from a Cakewalk file that comes with the font (so you can see how they programmed it). I haven't really put in that much time in programming, for that kind of results you'll have to spend a good while with it... Wish I could have a real drummer and set...
The font is from Sonic Implants (www.sonicimplants.com). It's called "Blue Jay Large Ambient 1" and the reverb is part of the actual recordings from when they made it (they also have one in a less verby room, and one from a dry room).
I did the drum programming by hand in Cakewalk, the intro is...
