Re: Re: Re: Volume adjustment in Wavelab
No, I dont use the mastering console for this. I use the process>change gain option. It probably does the same thing though as long as you do not have any plugins in the processing chain.

Cool
that makes sense. the same can be approached with cheap @ss mics. I need better,, I need better.
So to rephrase my question a little. What is it that your hearing with the M149 compared to the TM to justify that much of a difference in price? I believe I have asked a similar question...
The bands PA guy for real shows has about 4 of these mics. I have used them with the band in various environments. How they sound?? Like mics. LOL I mean I really didnt hear anything wrong with them as well. This was all live though.
Im starting to think unless it's a critical situation...
Re: Thats not what I meant...
I just did a little reading on this mic (M149) and checked out the cost just out of curiosity.
Man, exactly what do you use that mic for? LOL
Im just curious as hell to know what it is your doing or recording to justify that cost. LOL
Folks really...
A little long, but I get there
I was given 3 of these last week or so. http://www.avlex.com/pdfs/ECO-88.pdf
I didnt know much about them, but last night I worked the sound for a local group out of town. I had no intentions of really going to this gig, but the lead vocalist/keyboard player...
Thanks Marik, I guess it was more of a cautious question. Just had to make sure. It doesnt bother me one bit to ask questions in here because thats what the forum is supposed to be about.
If I ask a question its because I am planning on doing something or investigating how to approach or what...
Ok,
So your saying I can turn the power supply off, then turn on the phantom on one of my other pres and it still works? I dont which would be better. I guess I would have to listen. But the 2 pres I will try would be my internal DM24 pre and the SP VTB-1.
Malcolm
I generally do them one track at a time. Then I go to file open and make sure autoplay is turned on ,, then I click on each track and listen for the volumes. If I need to adjust one I just pull it up and increase or decrease the gain a little. Thats only if they are just a little off. If...
Ok,
I am using a tube mic for the first time. Question, Do I still use phantom power on my micpre or do I turn it off. Im asking because I have hooked the mic up to the power supply after I turned off the phantom and I am getting a input signal on the micpre even with phantom still...
Re: Edit Profile
LOL
Man, just type it under your name after you finish your post. That will work for me. Maybe not others though. Sh@t I already know who you are. LOL

" I want the best sound with the cheapest damn gear !! "
I mean you never listened to it. You have no way of really hearing how it sounds. Yet, you forked out the dough for additoinal pieces in your vocal chain based on comments, recommendations, etc from this forum. In other words , If you have done this list your gear purchases based on this...
Ok
Now her goes the stupid question. Is there a optimal Temp and Humidity for room temperatures that would give you the best sound travel/absorbsion for tracking with microphones?
Well maybe not the best, but what are some good climates to track in dealing with Temp and Hum?
You asked for...
I prefer after.
although I do use a lil gate before. Just enough to shut the mic off until the slightest sound hits the mic.
On Bass DI,, I use compression while tracking.
