    Wah pot replacement

Hi, I need to change the pot in my wah as it's scratchy (no, it's not dirt), it's needed changing for a while but as I'm going to be recording it will only degrade the sound. My question; I need a 100k linear pot. The options so far are: -Fulltone fullrange wah pot, reputed 150,000 turn life...

    I haven't a clue

Hi, I bought a Behringer FCB1010 midi controller to use as a foot controller for my TC G-major; I bought it new but it hasn't been upgraded and since I bought it mail order I need to do it myself. I have no idea about the instructions below: "It will be possible to upgrade existing FCB1010...

    replacing a nut

Oh and btw; it's up to you if you use glue or not; I didn't need to on any of mine because I was carefull to shape/file it so it fit nicely in the groove without having to force it in or it slipping out. Remember the strings will also be pushing it down so it's not one of those things that...

    replacing a nut

You need patience for all guitar mods. I replaced nuts on several of my guitars to graphite nuts (stay in tune better). They are cheap so buy a few. How is the other broken? It is handy to be able to use the old nut as a template for the new one. Shaping/filing the nut: Just remember you...

    Quick question

Hi, I decided to go with the Roland JV-1080 and a soundlogic sl-161 midi controller (I haven't received either yet). Could someone please tell me if the Roland JV1080 supports aftertouch as this is one of the main reasons I opted for the controller; I could have used my Yamaha PSR-220 which I...

    Why get a compressor?

Well think of it like this; why would someone buy a Gibson Les Paul instaed of settling for the Epiphone? Generally speaking you get what you pay for. With some compressors you'll find they add noise, others inaccurate etc.

    Musician's Advocate: What a joke!

I live in the UK so all of this doesn't concern me but I must say that I hate it when your looking for a product and you have to call or e-mail for a quote. It's simple, you advertise the product at the lowest price that you will let it go, say you will try your best to beat any other written...

    NT1 moving up to NTK???

If you can't afford the NTK, the NT-1000 is a very decent mic. I have an NTK and I'm going out today to purchase a NT-1000 as well.

    Upgrading Korg D16 software

I have a D16, I'm now on version 3.01. I'm assuming that you have a CD writer to do the upload, if you have then you can back the songs up first. If my memory serves me correctley you don't loose any data but it's always a good idea to back up just in case; or maybe you are not up to the...

What will yield the best results

OK, I am not a pianist as such but I do play a bit. I need to play mainly Rhythm but some lead for a professional standard recording. I don't have overlly that much to spend and may end up renting though that has it's problems. I have searched much of this forum and have narrowed it down to...

OK here goes: -Demos complete, moving onto the 'real recordings', professional standard needed; to be professionally mastered at the end. -Recording onto my KORG D16 so need to bypass the horrible preamps. -Have decided initially to buy a Soundcraft M12 for it's 'ghost' preamps and nice EQ (was...

    A&H vs Souncraft Spirit M

Well I'm also looking at these two; what are you planing to record to? -The A&H has the effects and the soundcraft has the digital outs. -Very similar pricing, the A&H a little more (from what I can find). -The preamps and EQ are both well reviewed on each model but the A&H are marginally...
