OK, I am not a pianist as such but I do play a bit. I need to play mainly Rhythm but some lead for a professional standard recording. I don't have overlly that much to spend and may end up renting though that has it's problems. I have searched much of this forum and have narrowed it down to the following:
-Yamaha S80 (a bit to expensive in reality).
-Yamaha P80 (told good realistic piano sound)
midi controllers:
-Studiologic sl990 (88 key)
sl161 (61 key)
-Roland A-33
with either Roland JV1010 or 1080 modules.
What will yield the best results (without hopefully not having to buy the S80) for at least 1 very realistic piano patch, a couple of decent organ patches and a few nice warm pads?
Is it generally cheaper or more expensive to buy the controller and then a module?
Is the JV1010 too basic for professional recordings (I heard for example from someone about hiss related to this module). Do all the above controllers have adequate stero outputs to go directly into a mixer?
Thanks,
Krystof.
