how can i use the "serial" adat inputs of my motu 828 ?

that thing is exactly what your looking for...... it's nothing more than a analog to adat converter with pre's tossed in for free... it's better to buy a converter instead of an adat recorder. Because if you use an adat recorder you can only use the a/d or d/a conversion seperatly. I mean you...

My home recording set up...what's next?

i'd personally go with the Oktava's. that's because you don't have any sdc's and you don't have a stereo pair. You could use those for overheads, acoustic guitar etc. And together with your sm57 and md421 that's all you need to make some nice drum recordings.

    Mic pres in mixers

those mic pre's are usable, but in the grand scheme of things they are utter crap..... do a search for behringer and mic pre's and you'll find alot of info and opinions. also there have been a lot of threads about the best mic pre within a certain budget. again use the search button and you'll...

1200 euro's to spend, Looking for bass amp...

we want tubes because we want to be able to overdrive the bass. besides most of the music we make is inspired on music from the 60ies 70ies and we just like that vintage sound. i know solid state can be a better choice for some things. But the stuff i own or have used that has tubes in em usually...

    stupid XY overhead Question!

with a coincedent pair it doesn't really matter where you pan em because the mics are in phase anyway. but when panning an non coincident pair it does(!) matter where you pan your mics because you can introduce comb filters into your sound if don't pan your overheads 100% left and right. This...

    A Strange Thing To Consider

hi, you have to realise that you hearing is hearing differently when the sound gets louder. The sensitivity of the ear for certain frequencies changes depending on how loud those frequencies are. for instance your ears are way more sensitive to mid frequencies when the soundlevel is low...

    Tom mics

i really love md421's for toms but they are a hassle to place and you'll need extra mic stands. i personally don't own any md421's anymore but i do have a couple of md422 ("improved" version of the md421) which i really like too. the best thing with md421s is that they instantly sound good on...

    telefunken d19--opinions anyone?

Hi, That telefunken d19 is actually a Akg d19. Many famous mics were marketed by telefunken but actually built by other manufacturers like the sennheiser md421, the neumann u47 etc etc. if you do a search at google for akg d19 you'll get a lot of info to sift through. greetings, Thomas

I might purchase the AKG C3000B

it's not really a stunning mic, but it's a bargain at 100 dollar. If you're looking for something better than your v67g, i'd hang on to your money and save for something more expensive. if you're looking for some extra mic's for cheap, than snap it up.

    Now an official SM57 hater

i've been using a beyer m201 on snare lately and it's usually a better mic on snare. but i'm usually very pragmatic about which mic to use because on some kits the sm57 just sounds better.... Thomas
