telefunken d19--opinions anyone?

Howdy folks--

This is my first post to the forum (I've been lurking in the shadows and have finally decided to come forward with some questions) and I was more or less looking for an opinion for the telefunken d19 or d19c microphone--I keep seeing it in auctions listed as "the beatles mic", and I understand that someone is probably trying to hype up their sale to get more cash out of the deal... So really, is this worth its weight in gold or paperclips? and another thing--just what is the frequency response like? what does it sound good with? I'm mostly in the market for a decent selection of vocal, drum and instrument mics (who isnt, right?) and happened to come across this telefunken mic, but cant find squat for reviews on it, just sales pitches, and no one i know has one or access to one...

so, opinions anyone?

Hi,

That telefunken d19 is actually a Akg d19. Many famous mics were marketed by telefunken but actually built by other manufacturers like the sennheiser md421, the neumann u47 etc etc. if you do a search at google for akg d19 you'll get a lot of info to sift through.
